Fremantle goalsneak Hayden Ballantyne says his rumoured rift with teammate Nat Fyfe was nothing but wrong speculation, while he also denied he asked for a trade away from the Dockers.Rumours surfaced last season that a host of Dockers players were unhappy with Fyfes leadership style, with Ballantyne apparently part of the clan. But Ballantyne flatly denied those claims on Wednesday.Theres a lot of speculation in Perth with footy players, and thats exactly what it was. There were no issues to resolve, Ballantyne said.It also emerged last year that Ballantyne had sought a trade to West Coast after failing to land a multi-year contract extension at the Dockers. But Ballantyne says he never wanted to leave the Dockers, claiming his manager was merely sussing out all available options.I didnt ask for that, no, Ballantyne said of the talk he wanted to head to arch rivals West Coast.(I was) open to look at all the possibilities for my football career. My manager does a great job, and he dealt with all the rubbish outside. For me, it didnt faze me in the slightest.Im happy here. Once all the dust settled, and Im staying as a Fremantle player, I was stoked. Its always been my mission to stay a Fremantle player for my whole career. Im as happy as hell.Ballantyne said he had a refreshing chat with coach Ross Lyon after the trade period.Once the dust settled, we laid everything out, Ballantyne said.I said, What do you need from me for 2017? And he was stoked with that.He said get your head down, bum up, and into pre-season.Ballantyne was an All-Australian in 2014, but he has struggled to recapture his best form since. The 29-year-old booted just 26 goals from 20 games last season, and just 15 goals the year before. It was a far cry from his 2014 campaign that yielded 49 goals.Ballantyne says Dockers players have been given the green light to play more instinctively in 2017.The club is hopeful the new style of play will help the team rebound from their horror 2016 campaign that yielded just four wins.Ballantyne suffered a fractured cheekbone last season, and he also broke his jaw in 2014.But the pocket rocket says hes not about to change his frenetic attack on the man and the ball any time soon.If I think about trying to protect myself in a game, opportunities are missed to lay a tackle or things like that, Ballantyne said.Theres a fair bit of metal in there now, so hopefully that helps.Luckily enough there hasnt been concussions or damage to my brain. Its just been bone damage, which heals quick enough. I wont be changing too much. Wholesale Air Max 2019 . LOS ANGELES -- After capping a six-game road trip on a high note, the Los Angeles Clippers begin a four-game homestand Sunday night against the Indiana Pacers at Staples Center. The Clippers (16-5) salvaged their recent journey with back-to-back victories over the New Orleans Pelicans and the defending champion Cleveland Cavaliers on Thursday and Friday. They started the run with a win over the Dallas Mavericks before suffering consecutive losses to the Detroit Pistons, Pacers and Brooklyn Nets before bouncing back in impressive fashion, particularly against the Cavaliers, who the Clippers hammered 113-94.One night later, Blake Griffins 27 points and 10 rebounds sparked Los Angeles to a 114-96 rout of the Pelicans to finish its stretch at 3-3. Although the players were pleased with how they finished on the road, Clippers coach Doc Rivers wasnt satisfied.I think were better than that, Rivers said, according to the Orange County Register. I dont think we should go .500 on a road trip. I think we should be better than that. Were asking a lot, but if you want to be special, youve got ask a lot.The Clippers have been solid for much of the season. Their defense has been a major reason. Although they slipped to sixth in the league for points allowed (98.6) -- Brooklyns 127-122 double-overtime decision hurt the Clippers cause -- they are second to the Golden State Warriors in points differential at 10.4 points per contest.Los Angeles, Indiana and the Atlanta Hawks are tied for second in steals at 9.2 per game.Point guard Chris Paul has been one of the teams catalyst on defense. Paul led the league in steals at 2.62 per game before Saturdays slate. Center DeAndre Jordan was third in rebounding at 12.8 boards.Griffin is the teams leading scorer, averaging 21 points per outing.Meanwhile, the Pacers (9-10) have struggled under first-year coach Nate McMillan. They were on the wrong end of a 131-109 shelling by the Portland Trail Blazers on Wednesday, which kicked off a five-game visit to the West Coast.ddddddddddddThe Trail Blazers scored 73 points in the first half. They came out and got whatever they wanted, said Pacers center Al Jefferson, according to IndyStar.com. Jefferson came off the bench to score 13 points against Portland. They ran their offense very well and they beat us in every way they could beat us. For whatever reason, we didnt have it. Im disappointed in the way we came out. However, the Pacers have been without All-Star Paul George, who has missed six of the last seven contests with an ankle injury. George leads the Pacers in scoring at 20.8 points and second in rebounds at 6.8.George, though, plans to play against the Clippers.I was good enough to play, but I wasnt a 100 percent, George said after the Portland loss, according to IndyStar.com. Being hurt and sitting out, little stuff like that nags on you. But thats the only thing Im hoping, that I can play without a tweak, where I have full strength where I can cut and be aggressive off the drive. Thats the only thing Im concerned about.A lack of defense has been a concern for the Pacers. Despite their status as one of the leagues leaders in thefts, the Pacers give up an average of 106.5 points, which ranked 22nd heading into Saturdays games. They were tied with the Utah Jazz at 21st in rebounding at 42.7 per game. Turnovers are another area the Pacers have had trouble limiting, committing 14.7 per game (tied for 21st).However, Indiana was fourth in limiting the oppositions 3-point shooting at 33 percent. The Clippers, though, will be shooting for revenge. Indiana pinned a 91-70 blowout on them on Nov. 27. ' ' '
