Every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, we pose a question to a rotating panel of ESPN fantasy basketball experts to gauge their thoughts on a hot topic. Todays contributors are ESPN NBA writer Ohm Youngmisuk and ESPN Fantasys Kyle Soppe and Joe Kaiser.Mike Conley is expected to miss the next six to eight weeks due to a transverse process fracture in his back. Should fantasy owners drop Conley? How should they go about replacing him?Joe Kaiser -- The right path of action with Conley comes down to two main factors: 1) Whether your league has any IR spots available and 2) Where your team is in the standings through five weeks of the season. If an IR spot is available, Conley is a top-50 player who is worth stashing in virtually every league. Case closed. If an IR spot isnt offered in your league, thats where your teams early-season standings come into play. On teams that are off to a slow start and making the playoffs already seems like a long shot, keeping a player like Conley, who could miss two months or more is foolish. His roster spot is too valuable, and by the time he returns, you could very well be in last place. The best thing to do is cut him and move on, as hard as it may be. The only scenario where Conley is worth keeping in a non-IR league is if your team is off to a dominant start and can afford to go with one fewer available roster spots for the next six to eight weeks.Replacing him with anything near the same value will be darn near impossible; Conley is currently No. 14 on ESPNs Player Rater, to give you an idea of how strong of a start he has had this season. His combination of points (19.2), assists (5.7), steals (1.4) and 3-pointers (2.5) wont be matched by anyone you can get off the waiver wire, so youll have to either orchestrate a trade or try to replace his stats via free agency with players like Matthew Dellavedova for assists, Thabo Sefolosha for steals and Courtney Lee for 3-pointers. Not ideal, but its what has to be done.Ohm Youngmisuk --? It really is a tough blow for Conley owners because the Grizzlies point guard had been playing at an All-Star level. What to do with Conley? If you are already trailing in your league standings and maybe in a league with 10-to-12 teams, maybe you can think about cutting him for a replacement. But I would lean more toward holding on to Conley. A source said Conleys timetable could be closer to four to six weeks. You just wont find a point guard on the waiver wire who will be able to average 19.2 points, 5.7 assists, 1.4 steals and shoot 46.7 percent from beyond the arc.Obviously, in deep leagues, you are stashing Conley. But unless your waiver wire has someone like Sean Kilpatrick (who will get plenty of minutes and shots, even when Jeremy Lin returns, and is available in more than 60 percent of ESPN leagues) or Lin (available in more than 40 percent of leagues and might be back soon) or Reggie Jackson (available in more than 30 percent of ESPN leagues), Id say stash Conley and try to be aggressive in cutting someone else on your roster for someone on the waiver wire who might be a steadier and more consistent producer and hope Conley is back in a little over a month from now.Kyle Soppe -- This is a tough blow for Conley owners, but I think you are grinning and bearing it if at all possible. Due to shallow benches in ESPN standard leagues, I get it if you simply cant afford to, but Conley has been a top-10 point guard on the Player Rater this season and ranks eighth among points guards in PER. Keep an eye on his status, but Im giving him at least a month on my bench and seeing how the recovery process plays out before making a long-term decision on him.As for a replacement, that is part of the argument for keeping Conley rostered. The point guard depth isnt all that great, so replacing Conley the same way the Grizz figure to with Andrew Harrison is very much in play for fantasy owners. Hes obviously very raw, but at 6-foot-6, he is a tough matchup, and he should assume a greater role than most other available point guards on your waiver wire. If Harrison has already been scooped up, Kris Dunn and Seth Curry are two viable options who are owned in too few leagues right now. Replacing Conley with a free agent is going to be difficult ... maybe consider a buy low option? Nike Air Max NZ Mens . PETERSBURG, Fla. Sean Wotherspoon Air Max 97 Nz . Following a lopsided 5-2 loss against the New Jersey Devils on Wednesday night, Paul MacLean told reporters that "theres a lack of focus, theres a lack of leadership and theres a lack of preparation" with his struggling team. And spoken is defined as one calling the other to inquire, no more, no less. FLORHAM PARK, N.J. -- After resolving his contract dispute with the New York Jets, Ryan Fitzpatrick pulled up to the team facility Wednesday night, eager to attend the first meeting of training camp. One problem: He couldnt get in. His door code no longer worked.Woody completely shut him out of the facility, wide receiver Brandon Marshall joked Thursday, referring to owner Woody Johnson. It was a fitting end to the six-month stalemate -- one last obstacle to cap an ordeal that lasted longer than both sides expected.Fitzpatrick was able to laugh about it after his first practice, a rusty performance in which he threw two interceptions, but the Jets starting quarterback indicated he wasnt too happy at the start of the negotiations. He declined to use the word insulting, but he was taken aback by the teams first offer in February -- three years, $24 million.I made clear to them I would never accept an offer like that, Fitzpatrick said. That was a deal that basically said, We want you here, and then we want you to stay here as the backup, he added. Thats not how I view myself. Id much rather pass up on some of that guaranteed money and just sign a one-year deal and bet on myself and see what happens.Fitzpatrick wagered on himself by signing a contract that will pay him $12 million this season. Technically, its a two-year deal, but the second year will void five days after the Super Bowl, he said. The second year was added for the purpose of spreading his signing bonus ($10 million) over two years. As a result, his cap hit is only $7 million for 2016. There will be a $5 million dead charge in 2017.Fitzpatrick called it a compromise that helps both sides, adding that he figured months ago it would take a deal like this to end the impasse. He was confident a deal would happen at some point, but he wanted no part of the original offer.I mean, I would almost not want them to sign a guy [to that contract], he said. How coould I look myself in the mirror every morning and say, Yeah, Ill try to play good this year, and next year, Ill collect checks and teach the young guys.dddddddddddd. Thats not who I am, thats not my nature. The young guys are Bryce Petty and rookie Christian Hackenberg, neither of whom is ready to compete for playing time. The No. 2 is Geno Smith, who would have been the starter if Fitzpatrick hadnt re-signed.The Jets never wavered with their plan, saying Fitzpatrick always had dibs on the starting job, so Smith wasnt blindsided by the demotion. He handled it well, although he admitted some frustration.Im not disappointed. Im kind of pissed off, Smith said. Its not a detrimental thing. Its not something where Im pissed off at anyone, because we all want to be out there. This just adds fuel to the fire, but not in a negative way.I dont want it to be a headline, because its not what Im trying to say. Its more as a competitor, as a quarterback, knowing what Im capable of and always believing in myself and knowing the work I put in in the offseason. You want to be out there.Coach Todd Bowles reiterated that Fitzpatrick is the starter, saying only an injury would prevent him from being the Week 1 quarterback. Its his job, Bowles said. I told you that in the spring. Its OK to have two quarterbacks. Its a good problem to have. Based off what he did last year, hes earned it.Bowles said the team gave Fitzpatrick a 7 p.m. ET Wednesday deadline because we had to move on. He also said it was good for some players in the locker room to have clarity. The drama ended at 6:59 p.m., when Fitzpatrick walked into the team meeting. He used Marshalls door code to get in the building and apologized to Bowles for being almost late.Thats a $12 million fine, Bowles said in front of the team, drawing laughs. ' ' '
