GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Randall Cobb slid to a stop on the slick field in the end zone after a 9-yard touchdown pass before adding another move.It was time for a little more fun in the snow. The wide receiver caught one of two touchdown passes from Aaron Rodgers, and the Green Bay Packers found their footing in the snow with two fourth-quarter scores to pull away from the Houston Texans for a 21-13 win on Sunday.Houston (6-6) lost its third straight game and its grip on the AFC South. The Texans are tied with idle Tennessee and a half-game ahead of Indianapolis, which plays the New York Jets on Monday night, for the division lead. The Packers (6-6) had a much better time after winning their second straight game to return to .500 for the first time in a month. Before Cobb got up in the end zone after his 9-yard touchdown catch in the second quarter, he did a snow angel. No, it was spur of the moment, Cobb said of his child-like celebration. I was sliding and I couldnt get up as fast as I wanted to, so I was like, why not?Back in their element in the cold, the Packers have stabilized following a four-game losing streak that dropped them to 4-6. Theyre tied with Minnesota in second in the NFC North, two games back of Detroit.Rodgers threw for 209 yards and Jordy Nelson had 118 yards receiving and a score. The Packers two fourth-quarter touchdowns capped drives of 98 and 89 yards, respectively. The Texans must regroup again, though weather shouldnt be a factor the next two games. Houston travels to Indianapolis next week before hosting Jacksonville. Both games will be in domed stadiums. These are games that we have to figure it out, coach Bill OBrien said. If we dont, were not going to be where we want to be. If we do, well have a shot.Other notes and takeaways from Sundays game:RODGERS HAMSTRING: Rodgers was 20 of 30. He looked OK after being limited in practice with a left hamstring injury, taking off for a couple runs, though he didnt seem to have his usual mobility on the slippery turf. I dont know if you ever come out better than you did coming in, but I feel good about where Im at, Rodgers said. I had decent movement and didnt do anything to create a major setback.MAKING PROGRESS: Quarterback Brock Osweiler has faced heat for the Texans offensive struggles this season. He was composed in the second half in leading Houston on 10-play, 63-yard drive that ended with a 6-yard touchdown pass to Ryan Griffin on fourth-and-1 to tie it at 7 with 7:32 left in the third quarter.Osweiler finished 22 of 35 for 202 yards.Look, I thought he battled. It was a tough environment as far as weather and things like that, OBrien said. He was pressured a few times, hung in there and played tough. I thought he battled all day.MATTHEWS IN THE MIDDLE: Clay Matthews seemed to be on a limited snap count coming back from a shoulder injury sustained last week against Philadelphia. But the long-haired linebacker gave a depleted position a boost by helping to fill in at inside linebacker. Starter Blake Martinez is still out with a knee injury. Jake Ryan returned after a two-game absence because of an ankle injury, but had to get the ankle re-taped in the first half.Any impact to it was pretty painful, Matthews said. But no worse for the wear if Im trying to be an optimist here. Hopefully next week, its that much better.SNOW DOWN: Texans cornerback Charles James went bare-chested during pregame warmups. Green Bay in the cold. Texans up, he boasted while signing autographs. But James slipped to the turf in the fourth quarter, leaving Nelson wide open in the end zone for a 32-yard touchdown pass that gave the Packers the lead for good, 14-7.I dont want to make any excuses, you know what I mean? James said. Thats what you get paid for to stay up there in inclement weather and go out there and be at your best.INJURY REPORT: Texans: WR Braxton Miller left with a shoulder injury after being driven to the cold turf by safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix in the second quarter on an incompletion. ... LB Nick Perry, who leads the team with eight sacks, returned with his left hand heavily wrapped after missing most of the first half with the injury.---For more NFL coverage: www.pro32.ap.org and www.twitter.com/AP-NFLCustom Nike Seattle Mariners Jerseys . Green. The first-round draft pick was getting tested right away. Green made a move and took off down the sideline, a place thats his domain. Kirkpatrick not only stayed with him but edged into him, breaking up the pass. This is what Cincinnati has waited a year to see. The Bengals took Kirkpatrick with the 17th overall pick last year, thinking he could grow into a starting role quickly. He hurt his left knee while working out last summer, forcing him to miss all of training camp and the first seven games. He played in five games before a concussion and more knee problems ended his season. Finally healthy, he has looked like a premier player in the opening days of training camp. "He had A.J. on the ball on the sideline," coach Marvin Lewis said. "That guy last year would have run smack into A.J., but this time he got in great position, got A.J. cut off and turned and played the football. "It will come back pretty quick. He understands the process, but its just time on task out here against real guys." For Kirkpatrick, its about time. He won a national championship with Alabama, where his unlimited confidence earned him the nickname "Swagga." He brought that confidence to the NFL, and it quickly took a hit. The knee injury sidelined him for training camp and eliminated him from the teams plans for the beginning of the season. When he started practicing again, the knee got sore, forcing him to back off. It made for a lot of tough weeks. "It was a lot of stress and a lot of depression," Kirkpatrick said. He got through it by talking to his father, Charles, who is a minister, and several teammates who have been through injuries. He was finally cleared and played in five games before a concussion and the knee sidelined him the rest of the way. The experience has tampered the swagger. "Hes another one of those guys who when he came in here, he thought the world revolved around him a little bit," defeensive co-ordinator Mike Zimmer said.dddddddddddd "I think hes finally woke up and said if we dont do it the way they want it done, if we dont understand that this is how its going to be, theyre not going to play. "I think hes come a long way, too, from what I can tell. Well see what he does on the field. And he might be a little bit rusty to start out with. But you can never have too many good corners. Those guys are like, theyre brittle." The Bengals have Leon Hall and Terence Newman as the starting cornerbacks, with Adam "Pacman" Jones next in line. Jones has a trial scheduled next month on an assault charge and could face discipline from the NFL. Kirkpatrick was visibly excited about training camp. Newman gave him a little advice. "Dont take this as something where youve got to come in and make sure you show that youre tough," Newman said. "Make sure youre healed. Youve got all the physical ability in the world. Youve got to be able to harness it and be able to go out on the field and show it." So far, hes given a good accounting of himself, showing that hes ready to be an NFL cornerback. "Its quite a change from college football to NFL football playing in the secondary," Lewis said. "And I see that transition out here." Notes: The Bengals wore shoulder pads on Saturday after working out without pads the first two days. Theyll wear full pads on Sunday for the first time. ... Newman was looking forward to watching the teams version of the Oklahoma drill on Sunday, which pits a blocker against a defender. He was especially eager to see linebacker James Harrison get his first chance to push somebody around. "It will be fun to watch No. 92 over here, a little pit bull," he said. "Theyre going to take his leash off and let him go bark at a couple people, so it will be interesting to watch." ... Green watched practice again in a T-shirt and shorts with a wrap on his left knee, bruised as he dived for a ball on Thursday. RT Andre Smith (calf injury) also watched for the second straight day.
