STARKVILLE, Miss. -- I.J. Ready had 14 and Aric Holman added 13 to lead Mississippi State to a 65-59 win over Northwestern State on Monday night.Ready and Holman combined for 10 of the Bulldogs last 12 points. Northwestern States Zeek Woodley made 5 of 9 on 3-point attempts, and finished with 28 points.Readys two free throws put Mississippi State up 55-54 with 4:05 remaining in the second half and the Bulldogs never trailed again.I am really happy we got the win and we were obviously short-handed tonight, said Mississippi State head coach Ben Howland. We started out in a zone because I was worried about getting in foul trouble. We didnt shoot the ball well either and you never expect Tyson (Carter) to go 0 of 7 (on three pointers). But I am proud of the way Eli Wright defended and rebounded and we just hope to get healthier. In his first college start, Wright scored a career-best 11 points and also led the Bulldogs with seven rebounds.Right before the game Coach Howland came to me and told me I would be starting, said Wright, who was 4 of 5 from the field. I was glad to take advantage of the chance they gave me. I did okay but I couldve been more aggressive. Coach Howland told me to key on my rebounding so I have tried to progress on that. The Demons jumped out to a 14-4 lead in the first six minutes as both teams struggled offensively in the first half. Mississippi State responded with an 18-6 run to take a 22-20 lead after a dunk by Tyson Carter. The first half finished with the Bulldogs and Demons deadlocked at 28-28. Mississippi State shot 40 percent and missed all nine three-point attempts in the first half. For the game, Northwestern State shot 38.9 percent from the field and made 9 of 21 three pointers. The Demons also out-rebounded Mississippi State 33-31.I am really proud of our kids coming in and competing against a bigger and quicker team, said Northwestern State head coach Mike McConathy. Our Achilles heel was our turnovers and they got 26 points off our (19) turnovers.Mississippi State has 13 turnovers and shot 46.2 percent for the game. The Bulldogs made just 2 of 15 three points and made 15 of 20 free throws.BIG PICTUREMississippi State: Already without leading scorer Quinndary Weatherspoon, the Bulldogs were also missing freshman Lamar Peters on Monday. England are aiming to finish an unbeaten 2016 run under Eddie Jones, and will face the Pumas at Twickenham in the autumn Test series on Saturday, live on Sky Sports 2. Argentina second-row Petti believes Englands forwards are behind their dominant displays in recent fixtures, including their 58-15 win over Fiji last weekend, but the lock is hoping his sides Bajada scrum technique - which directs the force onto the opposing hooker - can bring down Jones side. Highlights of Englands Autumn International clash against Fiji at Twickenham The thermometer of this England team is the forwards winning the physicality, said Petti. When they get control there they are very strong. The key in this match is going to be this. Lots of scrums, lots of mauls. The one who dominates these things will dominate the match. The forwards of England are very good, very powerful, very strong. Its good playing teams with these strengths. We want to play against the best and England are one of the best. Brown back to face Pumas Mike Brown has been included in Eddie Jones 24-man England squad to face Argentina at Twickenham The Pumas Bajada technique has been used for more than 50 years and is based on the second rows binding around the props waists rather than between the legs, which could put added pressure on Hartley in the hooker position.dddddddddddd Yes we can do that, and maybe we have to think which scrums to fight and which ones not to, said Petti of Argentinas unorthodox scrummaging technique. We know that the scrum will be a very important area for this match. Our scrum has improved a lot in the past few matches.I think against Scotland we had a great scrum, but England is going to be more difficult. Petti (right) says Englands strength comes from their aggression Their physicality is their strength. They are very aggressive.Dylan Hartley is a great player, hes very experienced and he knows how to lead England. But this will be a big battle, and one I think both sides will relish.Petti also admitted Argentinas target of avoiding the group of death at the 2019 World Cup has taken a dent after the Pumas were beaten by Scotland. The top eight ranked teams will be sorted into two pots and can expect more favourable pools in Mays World Cup draw, with victory over England now Argentinas last chance of moving up to eighth before then. One of our objectives is to be in the top eight so our defeat to Scotland was not very good, said Petti. Sky Sports Black Friday sale Upgrade to Sky Sports now and get 12 months half price!
